Hepatitis C is an infection caused by a virus that attacks the liver and leads to inflammation. Most people infected with the virus have no symptoms. In fact, most people do not know they’re infected with Hep C  until liver damage appears during routine tests.

The Hepatitis C virus is spread when you come in contact with contaminated blood. Examples of how Hepatitis C can be spread include:

  • Blood transfusions and organ transplants before 1992
  • Shared needles
  • Tattoos or body piercings
  • Childbirth
  • Sexual contact

Hepatitis C usually produces no signs or symptoms during its early stages. However, it is important to seek treatment if you think you may be infected. Untreated Hepatitis C infections, over many years, may cause complications, such as scarring of liver tissue, liver cancer, and liver failure.

If you’re dealing with Hepatitis C, the stress and strain of living with the virus can take a significant toll on your emotional well-being. At Kings Pharmacy, we not only provide Hep C meds to patients, but also serve as a support team to guide you throughout your treatment.
